Lower Manhattan Expressway
Description: The Lower Manhattan Expressway was a Robert Moses project, orginally proposed in the 1940s, which would have leveled parts of Little Italy and SOHO. This poster invites city residents, workers and organizers to a New York City Board of Estimate hearing on the proposed expressway. The notation in the upper left corner indicates that Stan Aromowitz testified on behalf of the Met Council on Housing. The project was cancelled in 1962.
